All entries considered for publication. Send only one chapbook manuscript per entry fee, but enter as often as you like. We  do not publish chapbooks with more than 40 pages of poetry.  Some of the best chapbooks we've seen have contained as little as 12 poems.

Works may be previously published; however it is your responsibility to give credit to these publications and provide that information with your submission. We accept simultaneous submissions; however our entry fee is non-refundable if accepted elsewhere.

We cannot consider work from anyone affiliated with Amsterdam Press or Plain Spoke.

You should send us a cover letter including your name,  manuscript name, address, email address, and other pertinent contact information.  Winner will be chosen on or before February 15, 2011.  We will be notifying all entrants of winners electronically via email.  Winners will also be announced on our website and an announcement will be mailed out with the next issue of Plain Spoke published after the winner is chosen.  Mailed Manuscripts will always be recycled.

Poems should be typed in a clear, legible, 12 point font such as Arial, Palatino Linotype, Garamond, Georgia, or Times New Roman. Poems should appear on separate pages.  Pages should be numbered.  Poems that continue onto a second page should indicate whether the stanza continues with a "(stanza continues)" at the bottom of the first page. Do not staple pages together. Entrants should also include a brief biographical statement, under 200 words, written in third person.
